About Comandante

Comandante's journey began with a simple, yet ambitious goal: to create the best manual coffee grinder in the world. As the founders of a specialty coffee roastery in Munich, Germany, Bernd Braune and his family were frustrated by the lack of quality tools available for home baristas and coffee professionals on the go. They needed a grinder that was not only portable but also delivered the same level of precision and performance as large, expensive electric grinders.

Driven by a passion for coffee and a deep engineering background, Bernd set out to create this tool himself. He meticulously researched and developed every aspect of the grinder, from its ergonomic design to its revolutionary Nitro Blade® burr technology. The result was the Comandante C40, a grinder that set a new standard for quality, consistency, and durability.

The Comandante product line has since evolved to meet the needs of every coffee lover. For those who demand the highest performance, the C60 Baracuda is the ultimate workhorse. With a larger, unibody stainless steel construction and the most advanced burr set Comandante has ever released, the C60 grinds coffee faster and with even greater precision.
